Just about any word can be written without any empty space, thought there are a couple of combination that it can't cope with ('tt' 'jt' and the number 4 just doesn't work at all)

Approach

This started off as a doodle, it was a little inspired by Escher's tessellating drawings. It then developed into a full font.

These examples were drawn by hand then coloured using photoshop.
