Design Brief: Chess set for A-level Art |
|
|
I have always enjoyed playing chess, except when the other person takes it too seriously. I took A' level art as I couldn't bear to give it up, this was produced in a year of free periods and skived general studies lessons (in which I got an A anyway) ApproachSimple really, they were all sculpted by hand, using dentist tools for the fine details. The main problem I encountered was that my hands are always very warm, and so dry the clay out when working on fine details, so I had to put my hands in cold water for 5 minutes before doing the really fine work. Unfortunately this was not taken into account when my A-level was marked, as we were doing a stupid syllabus did get the school art prize for it though, and a teacher offered to buy it from me! |
